| Current attention to environmental issues combined with regulation and law drivers – not only in the Western world – is contributing to increase the demand for biodegradable and compostable film, starting from new resins and complex biopolymers made from vegetal components (e.g. maize starch) and engineered to meet market needs | ![]() |
Intended applications are film for shoppers, organic waste differentiated collection, food packaging, hygienic packaging, mulch film (employed in the agricultural field).
| Bandera – in strict cooperation with the Italian leading manufacturer of bioplastics – has developed a complete series of single- and multi- layer blown film extrusion lines dedicated to and optimized for processing and transforming these brand-new resins. | ![]() |

The hot line section has been re-designed to suit material specific rheological characteristics, i.e. low process temperatures and high-pressure values. The cooling ring – an extrusion line essential component – has been re-designed as well, taking into account bubble special blow-up ratios. |

The upper take-off unit and the winder implement special adjustments to prevent film wrinkles, which would be hard to eliminate.
Biodegradable film quality and relevant line hourly outputs are definitely higher than Bandera competitors.
Bandera offer in the sector is completed by a wide range of ancillary equipment and peripherals.
European Standard EN 13432 set forth compostability characteristics (i.e. degradation into biomass and water under preset conditions) to be met by biodegradable materials.
