Advanced Machinery was founded in 1989 by Wim Buyle.   Initially, the company undertook the installation of web-guiding systems, as well as the overhaul and maintenance of such systems – and this on a free-lance basis.     Subsequently, the activities were expanded into the design, construction and maintenance of other equipments and accessories used in the converting industry :  web tension controls, expansion shafts, spreader rollers, longitudinal cutting systems, etc.

In April 1990, Advanced Machinery signed its first exclusive agency contract for the Benelux-countries with Re Controlli Industriali from Italy.   The positive and rewarding experiences with this Italian principal resulted in more exclusive representation contracts with other Italian quality companies.
